Lawful interception, data retention, and related systems are highly dependent on the carrier environment in which they must operate. For this reason, all systems designed and sold by AQSACOM must be designed and configured to meet the requirements of the carrier customer and local or national regulations. AQSACOM executes a carefully planned installation and validation process when working with its customers to ensure proper operation of all supplied systems not only at the time of delivery to the customer, but throughout the years that follow. We now describe the elements of our installation and validation process:
1) Audit phase
The Audit Phase consists of analyzing the customer’s prerequisites, network functional specifications, and LEA specifications. We complete this phase ends with the Final Study document for approval by the customer. The Final Study includes a list of requirements that the customer needs to adhere to prior and during installation (e.g., enabling access of AQSACOM staff to certain parts of the customer network, AC/DC power, network interconnections, and other prerequisites), and the schedule of milestones for the installation process.
2) Delivery phase
The Delivery Phase consists of the physical delivery and the complete installation of the product at the customer premises.
3) Validation phase
The Validation Phase consists of the execution of tests conforming to the Acceptance Testing Plan document, as drawn up by AQSACOM and the customer. This document helps to confirm compliance of the installed solution to the customer requirements. The tests are typically performed over a dedicated test network that does not impact the operational network. If for any reason the customer requires execution of the tests on the operational network, AQSACOM will accommodate such tests in a manner as to minimize operational impact. This phase ends with the signature by the Customer of a Preliminary Acceptance Certificate.
4) Live Test Phase
Live Testing applies realistic testing of the AQSACOM-supplied system as it operates over the carrier network. Testing follows a step-by-step check list developed by AQSACOM to stress the installed system, while helping to resolve anticipated or even unanticipated and potential problems. This phase could also include tests with one or more designated LEAs. Testing ends with the signature by the customer of the Final Acceptance Certificate.
